Learning from the Mistakes of Others – Exploring 2023 Cannabis Data Trends

Apex Trading and Cannabis Benchmarks have teamed up to crunch some 2023 cannabis data trends. Using three data sources – the Apex Trading anonymized platform wholesale data, Cannabis Benchmarks data, and the Massachusetts Cannabis Control data – we dove deep.

We looked into historical retail and wholesale trends, current plant count, and pending licensee data. Additionally, we’ve drawn our experience in other uncapped markets and how they’ve trended.  As a result, we have a sense of where the Massachusetts market may be headed.

The data doesn’t paint the rosiest picture for wholesale cannabis prices, however it may lead to a benefit for consumers at the register. In addition to the hard data, other factors such as border state adult-use market launches could influence the state of the Massachusetts cannabis market.
